Router Protocol is taking its 1st step towards Bitcoin interoperability through integrating the Rootstock chain on Router V1.
Rootstock is a Bitcoin sidechain that brings EVM compatible smart contract capabilities to the Bitcoin Blockchain. It is connected & secured by the hashing power of Bitcoin through a process known as merge mining. When Bitcoins are transferred into the Rootstock (RSK) chain, they become Smart Bitcoins ($RBTC) that can be transferred back into Bitcoins at anytime!
